Tomorrow is the start of the Lincolnshire County Show; over the two days it attracts around 65,000 visitors.
Listening on the radio last night to local radio, broadcasting from the showground and talking to the exhibitors setting up their stalls brought back a lot of very fond memories of the early days of the Society.
I have always been an advocate of getting out to meet your market, rather than wait for them to come to you, and regardless of the weather the visitors do turnout.
Personally, I love county and local shows as its a place to meet and talk to people in a more relaxed atmosphere which in many cases a shopping mall or DIY store does not as most people are there to shop and therefore in a hurry.
Over the next few weeks, I will bring you a few of the lighter moments that over the past 25 years we have experienced in attending county shows, everything from working in 4” mud to team members fainting from heat stroke as well as giving you hints and tips that we have learnt along the way.
