The SWW Professional Standards Board has submitted their response to the Competition and Markets Authority’s consultation on draft guidance for unregulated legal services providers.

Members can read a copy of the PSB’s response here.

As a reminder, the CMA launched the consultation recently in response to its investigation into will writing, online divorce, and pre-paid probate. The deadline for responses is 5 p.m. on 13 June 2024, and members should know that once the final guidance is published later in the year, it will be followed up by a compliance review to monitor its effectiveness, which could result in further action being taken should standards not rise.

We will shortly be publishing a guidance piece on the key themes of the CMA’s draft, along with further instructions on how to respond.
