The Society of Will Writers is thrilled to announce that with the support and work carried out with the SWW Professional Standards Board, an all-new process for upgrading your membership from Full (MSWW) to Fellow (FSWW) has been finalised and officially launched this week.
Announced by PSB Chairman Antony Brinkman at this year’s SWW Conference, the process marks a change in how membership upgrades will be handled going forward. Existing Full members will now have a much more straightforward route to upgrading their membership, with a stringent process of an initial application, followed by submission and interview stages for those who meet the new, much clearer set of criteria. The new process also removes any ambiguity are the upgrade process which existed previously.
In line with the new process, the Society is also streamlining its membership grades and from today will no longer be accepting any applications or upgrades for Associate (ASWW) membership. Existing Associate members will not have their membership status changed, however, this grade will now be considered a legacy grade and therefore the Society recommends that current Associates consider applying to upgrade their membership to Fellow grade at the earliest opportunity.
Applications for Fellow membership upgrades are now open, with the first deadline set for 11 January 2024. For full details, including processes, costs, timescales and additional deadlines, please click here, or navigate via the SWW Membership page under the professional tab of our website.
For any questions, or to discuss the process, please contact the membership team directly at [email protected], or call 01522 687 888.
We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of Fellow members before next Summer.
